MSRP is similar to vintage unit... rather buy an oldie... but the new features could be interesting... ...nothing but having both will do it... ::)

Wouldn't mind knowing what bbd chips it uses.

That's what's on my mind...

My wildly speculative guess is BL's

"Custom mode provides warm-yet-clear delay sound and over twice the delay time."
this is interesting, I believe its like the multiple feedback delay on aquaboy Dlx.
Probably the BBD chips are gonna be the BL ones.

Muadzin

Not sure if I'd need one as 330ms is way too inadequate for my needs. Which is why I never bothered to get a DM-2 or DM-3 in the past other then for collecting purposes.

Still, a good development. They should revisit more of their old classics.

Yeah that's nice but how bout a real space echo?  I'm sure they are using 3008 or similar.

That would be my hope/guess.

I sincerely doubt that Boss is going to manufacture a pedal with a defunct chip. If it's not cool audio, I'll eat my hat.*

Yeah, you are probably right.

Does the Carbon Copy use the Cool Audio chips?  For some reason, I thought it was the BL.

It's possible that Boss has its own house-brand BBDs. If anyone has the cash and connections to make it happen, it's Roland Corp.

I would wager (but I'm not eating headwear) that in order for analog delays to continue being made beyond the onesie-twosie DIY efforts, one of the big companies (or maybe a partnership between two of them) is going to have to take up the cause of getting new chips made. Either that, or Cool Audio is going to have to seriously retool their efforts on the bigger bucket chips.

No, the newer CC and the Malekko are both Cool Audio. I think the same designer was involved in both.
