Power issue with Lavache

I built a lavache for my son about 2 years ago and he gave back it to me because it is having power issues.  When powered by a battery everything is good.  When I plug in a 9v adapter (voodoo labs correct polarity etc...) it dies out and no sound comes out, the led goes out as well.  When bypassed it works fine battery or dc power.  I tried replacing the dc jack - no dice.  I pulled the diode and cap that are in line with the 9v on the board - no change either.  I checked all of my grounds and can't figure it out.  My son said the 9v used to work just fine and it just crapped out one day.

Any ideas on what to check?

I'd check that the dc wiring isn't shorting somewhere, like maybe an input jack that's spun and now shorting at the enclosure.  Assuming you used it to switch the battery on/off.

Could be something similar elsewhere, pot, switch, etc.
always the beautiful answer who asks a more beautiful question.

have you check if you are soldering on he ight lugs??, when powe its on snap, the DC jack has jumper bots lugs, if connected on adapter, the jack has a swtich that dissable the other lug to preven using battery, seems like you are conecting wrong way the jack.

just conect the power and check voltages on the inputs, if not the main problem its on the jack
