We all know that the Chinese relabel BBDs, in fact alot of the ones that are totally legitimate that pass through my hands I tend to find have been all stamped to be uniform in appearance.

Well I was going through such a batch of MN3008 I had today (I usually test in a chorus with a daughter board just for a quick check before putting them in a delay as the sound's more obvious) and I noticed one sounded... well, odd, really really deep and pitch changey.

Everyone's heard of MN3005 turning out to be MN3008, i've got the first MN3008 that turned out to be a MN3005!  ;D

I spent half an hour testing it back and forth against every legit MN3008 & 3005 I had in a Memory man, no doubt about it, it's an MN3005 stamped as MN3008, judging by the bottom (which is still original) and also the actual feel of it (there is a noticeable difference) this was one of the early white stamped chips and i'm guessing the last number had rubbed off enough that it got mistaken for an '8' rather than '5'.
