Thanks, exactly... i prefer that PTP method over the tagboard or turret anytime. Yes it asks more time and maybe more preparation, because you can't go back... so being able to read a schematic correctly is a priority... you don't want some of this voltage to short to ground, it would hurt.

Other thing that i like about this, is that it keeps things well separated in their own «section».

For exemple, the input stage, it's all concentrated around V1, all the components are as close to the tube as possible, reducing the noise.

The power filtering and distribution to the various V+ points also get a dedicated spot in the layout, so not interfering with the input or tone stack stages that is also all concentrated around the controls.

But what i by far prefer about this type of construction is the «logistic» around it... the staggering or the components, so they don't interfere between each other and there's an artsy side to it aswell, populating a pcb is kind of a 2D experience if i can say... this is all about 3D... it takes you out of the mold.

CLIP

Based on JuansoloEffects STM800

Uses a 9V power supply and convert to 190V to the tube plates.

Input tube is a RCA 12AX7 GreyPlate, output is a JJ ECC83S.

Output of pedal goes directly to FX Return of Mesa MarkIV that is in Full power, ClassA and Triode power mode. Only the Graphic EQ is still active on the amp but it's located between the whole preamp section of amp and phaser inverter, mids are flat, boosted a little the highs and low.

It was quite loud when recording, so it clips at some moments, sorry about that.

MJW Telecaster w/BKP Miracle Man Alnico was used to record the loop.

And looking at this.... i think i've wired my treble pot the opposite way... or it's interacting with the middle pot in a strange manner, but it still gives the goods i think.

To be honest i dunno... cool thing is that everything have been verified. So that's a no brainer.

I had other new projects in front of these at the moment, but we might bump it up front, i would'nt complain either

Forgot that one, that one is very fully featured though, so not really quite the same...

Do you put the «gain maker» in front or after the envellope?

It's sometime twitchy to use those effect with high gain sound because the envellope drives the signal a lot, gotta be careful how you set the gain control on the MutronIII otherwise it becomes blurry. For me, the way to use envellope on gainy sound is as a fixed wah.

By the way, i just randomly actuated that pedal at the end of the clip, it's more set to be used on my clean channel with the Ross side of my twin comp on. For funky kwawking sounds...
