New Amp Day For A Friend!

Maybe some of you remember that i was lurking at a Fender Bandmaster, at the moment that i was ready to purchase, the seller backed off.. ...so it falled through.

He decided last week to sell it again, contacted me, but i already had some dibs on another amp from Fender that is really what i wanted, no compromise!

But my good friend Alex of the Slingshot Brothers band was looking for another amp to compliment is Suhr Badger30 and contacted me couple weeks ago to hunt an amp for him and this popped!

Picked it up yesterday, had already tried it, sounds awesome, the Trem is REALLY nice... ...might be the only thing that i will regret of not having.

Anyway onto Pics! '68 Bandmaster! Can someone tell me what i have to look at to see wich version it is?

Very nice. I am in love with older Bassman and Bandmasters. There is just something about them.

Really digging these amps too, is there anything out there that is more pedal friendly?

Buddy took delivery of it a bit earlier this evening, i already miss it, can't wait to get mine! hehe

Do you guys prefer 12 or 10 inch speakers with these?

This site has schematics and layouts for all the versions, you should be able to find what you need here: http://vintagefenderamprepair.com/schematics/schematics-layout-diagrams/

That is a beaut! I would go with 12s if you have a strong back to haul it around.

The only Bandmaster I played had a 2x12 cab and it sounded very fat and full. I only have Bassmans right now with 2x15 cabs.. they shake the block and sound great but they are just to damn big to take anywhere.

There were two different blackface specs, though! Could be AA763 or AB763. Pretty small differences, though, so maybe it doesn't really matter. Either way, it's a fun site to dig through.

GrindCustoms

Yeah, from what i've read the AA763 was made until 1965 or something like that.

I'm getting it back in soon so i change all the filter caps and a proper "era" re-tube job. Ill try to dig more info when i get it back.

I'd like to see that if you get the chance! I only saw the picture of the originals on your Facebook.
