What do you do?

I'm just interested in what everybody here does day to day.. You know.. when you're not building pedals..

I'm gonna make a guess that not many of us are actually formally trained electrical engineers..? Could be very wrong though.

I'm a uni student, studying commerce/accounting.

I'm a technician in radiotherapy, giving Xray treatments in a french hospital (BTW I'm sometimes able to get few electronic components, wires, and plexiglas at work, and I have a drill press available for my free time  )
At home I'm a father of one 8 month baby how always interrupt me when I'm soldering

I'm a Bio-medical eng. by trade, but I am a Clinical applications specialist for a major medical company.
One thing I haven't seen offered when de-gooping pedals is anyone in the field who offers to x-ray pedals for PC board traces. They show up nicely if you use the right technique.

Although MBP is my full-time gig now, I've had lots of other jobs. I worked in a college counseling center, I was a manager at a bookstore, a fundraiser at a non-profit AIDS organization, a computer technician, a graphic designer, and as an accounting type person at another university. The bookstore job was the best of them...I made a lot of friends and had lots of fun.

At a certain point, I realized that I was never going to be happy working for anyone. My last regular job was the only time I had real difficulty adjusting to being supervised. It was just too much drama and politics and I was never able to play that game. I eventually got so depressed about it I stopped showing up and later resigned. The next day, I was in the madbeanpedals business!

Not to derail things, but if anyone here has ever thought about going into business for themselves, I can honestly say you will never look back after taking the plunge. As long as you are committed and keep yourself focused and in good spirits you will succeed!

I'm a National Account Manager for an very small (9 full time employees, 2 part time) Audiovisual company in Nashville. We do corporate events, so I plan all the the A/V needs based on the event's agenda on the front end, and travel onsite and manage it during the event. We also set up offices for our clients at each meeting, so a lot of printing networks, routers, all that stuff. It's a great job. I get to travel all around at no expense to me, stay in nice hotels, and meet/work with a lot of awesome people.

I'm a student at Los Angeles Trade Community College studying for a degree as an EE. After this semester I will have an assosciates and then probably transfer to a California State University to finish up for my bachelor degree. This semester we are studying for(and extremely encouraged to take) the FCC exam. Now that is some crazy stuff.
Not employed but I've found a way of making something buying and selling on craiglist with my buddy. We've come up on some crazy deals.

Hi. I have enjoyed reading these posts.

I am trained as a clinical pharmacist. I went back to college in my late 20's when I realized I wasn't going to be a rock star. After graduating and some post-doc training, I worked as an Assistant Professor at a pharmacy college. About 5 years ago, I was lured to the "dark side." I now work for a biotech pharmaceutical company as a Regional Medical Liaison. I travel around and talk to docs, give educational presentations, and support clinical trial sites. It's great because I work from home often. When I'm on the road I get to visit lots of music stores and hunt for used pedals to mod.
