Hey All,

I just did the cave dweller which was released about 2 weeks ago.  It's a baby board build to go into a small enclosure.  This is my 2nd mad beans pedal, and first time in the forum.

The build itself was fun.  I did learn a lot.  I've built about a dozen or so pedals and every time i learn something new.

Things learned this time:

1. Order the right type of micro pots.  I ordered the wrong type of mounting which had additional clips etc on them. a few snips with the wire cutters and all was well.

2. Using small pieces of breadboard to hook the micro pots up to the ribbon wire is an excellent idea.  took me a pot or two to get the hang of it, but it will be something i incorporate going forward.

3. Ribbon wire is awesome.  This was great for keeping wires organized and easy to reference which pot was which.  first time using it, won't be the last.

That said, here are pics of the build.  the first is the outside once it was all housed up.  the second is the guts of the assembled pedal, and the third, while hard to see is the shot of the breadboard on the pots.

I like the sound of the pedal. Nice and smooth with a nice mellow feel to it.  although, when you crank up the dwell the pedal goes out of control into crazy oscillation.  this is not a good thing, or usable in my opinion.  others may like it.  keep the dwell low and you get some really nice delay.

When soldering, always remember to wear eye protection... and pants.
