I'm trying to find JRC4580D ICs in the US.  I found NMN4580D at mouser.  I'm building a MB Upperdecker.  Would this be a sufficient alternate?

Yes

JRC = Japan Radio Corporation
NJM = produced by New Japan Radio Company
JRC = NJR

There are those that swear there's a difference  in the JRC vs NJM chips. They have the same specs.

My mouser shipment notification tells me I bought 10
MFG Part No:NJM4580DD
NJM4580DD
NJR Operational Amplifiers - Op Amps
US HTS:8542330000 ECCN:EAR99 COO:JP

They should arrive on Wed or Thur. If you want I wouldn't be opposed to popping two in pink foam, a ziploc and into a padded mailer your way. I went with the DD part because DD's are better that D's right?*

* It's really temperature variance, so yes they were better

I actually have some spare tube, pink foam, ESD bags etc to mail it out proper thanks to my last order with Avnet.

Clayford, that's very generous.  I'm not really in a hurry though.  That's good info.  I'm hoping to get a handle on this part nomenclature.  I've been building almost a year now and have learned quite a bit but have so much more to learn.  I greatly appreciate you taking the time to explain this so well:)

Not in the US, but Tayda sells the SIP version for $0.25

Andrew.

Tayda sells SIP 4558's but not 4580's the 4558 is an upgrade of sorts for the 4580, but will give a different sound. Tayda to my knowlege doesn't carry 4580's and they carryu 4558's in both p-dip and sil chips.
