Agreed, I pick up 10-15 of them with every mouser order I place. Nice to have around.

I'd grab a 100 or so through-hole transistors or FETs.  Stock up while they are still in production.  At the cost savings of those quantities, you could always flog them off at a minor profit later if you didn't need them.

Maybe a groupbuy is in order. They're 8c each in quantities of 1000.

BS170 and 2N7000 are both still in production....... for now.

Grabbing 100 of each would be about $20.

I think they're already marked obsolete. Plenty in SMD, though.

I've ordered some rings, but haven't used them yet ... I've used a couple of the fresnels ... notice that they have both flush mount and some others, plus different color lenses.

anyway, you'll need to check their products, and order depending on the size LED you're using ...

Thanks for the tip, I mostly prefer to use 3mm and just drill a 1/8" hole and countersink it from the top. Sounds like the ring might not be needed.

Haberdasher has shown me this LED that he likes. No blue, but I'm gonna give it a whirl in classic red diffused.
