I had this pedal in the shop for a small repair, the battery ground wire was not making good contact.. so i fixed that and returned it to customer.

But being a vintage pedal and phaser whore... i kind a tried to get a hold on it.

When the customer got it back, it was doing a while he was'nt using it because of the power problem and was kind of disapointed by the sound of it because i had let him a PhasorII clone to try until he get this one back...

PhasorII sounded better to him... TRADED!  :mrgreen:







I now have 4 fully working vintage phasers and one in repair.

I'm pretty sure most of what looks like dirt is decayed foam padding; the same stuff is in my old Blue Box.

Wikipedia actually has some info on dating the MXR pedals and AnalogMan has a couple of comments,

It looks like the latest that could be is '74 or '75 and possibly earlier.

Does it have a brand marking on the box?

I have an old script phase 90 that I researched. There's a date code on the pot. I'll see if I can find that resource. It won't give you the date of manufacture but it should get you close. At least you know it was built after the date on the pot.

You've got a sweet pedal there! I think the pot code on my 90 dates to '76. I got mine for $30 non-working on Craigslist. It had a dead IC. Got it working and love it. It had been modded by analogman about 10 years ago. True bypassed, power jack and LED. I was going to fix it and flip it but discovered I really liked it!

Cool, i have to repair the Dod Chorus 690 i got, received some substition parts from a member here, just need to find time to get at it... grabbed it for 40$, really worth to put it back in shape.

I've looked on ebay for Script Phase 45, but just found Block letter ones.... what is the approximate value of these?

Well.. no matter the value is, that trade was really good for me, if not counting the labor in the building the PhasorII, just the parts.... it's quite an awesome deal for a perfectly working unit.

Again, going off of memory here, but I think the ones with BUD marked on the enclosure are more sought after/valuable. I think they quickly transitioned to cases marked MXR or maybe they were just blank. Those heavy zinc boxes feel good!
