a few recent builds, HM2, Shredmaster, Hotcake

Haven't posted anything recently, so here's a couple of pics:



Clockwise from the top: Boss HM2 with 3 band EQ, Boss HM2, Hotcake, Marshall Shredmaster.

all my own PCB layouts, the hotcake is the '76 schematic that's floating around, so buffered bypass, and with the midlift control versus the presence control on the newer hotcakes.

no guts, no glory so:


got a few PCBs for the HM2's and Shredmaster (i've revised the shredmaster as the one in the pic had the contour control wired backwards)

yeah, the HM2 gets a bit of love eh? Godflesh too.

I really love the three band EQ version for bass, it just separates out the mid and hi EQ, so bass and mids dimed, and just dialing back the hi enough to tame the eardrum shreddage

Black Breath also use them on bass...and they have a notoriously killer tone!

I'm slowing getting set up to record some demos, but the last link in the chain is my woefully inadequate guitar playing

there's been a bit of interest in the 3 band EQ version of the HM2 - one of my spare boards is gone, and the other is pending.

Just seeing if there is enough interest to justify getting a few more boards made up?

Still got a bunch of the Shredmaster and stock HM2 boards, also, if anyone want's a cheap shredmaster, i've got 2 spare protoboards that had the contour pot backwards. $7 each if anyones interested?

Nah, I just used powdercoated boxes from PPP.
Pretty expensive to get them sent to NZ, but the looks so good
