Fabricated PCBs

I am suprised that there isn't a sticky somewhere in this forum that has all the guys here who sell fab PCBs.

I have found (and bought) so many different PCBs by searching sigs or word of mouth that otherwise I may not ever have found.

Is this unethical because this is a Madbean forum? I wouldn't think so because we all like to build more pedals than we know what to do with.....but if it is, I apologize and we can let this thread die. I am mainly just talking about members sites.

As a noob, it would be nice to have a thread dedicated to something like this. Maybe there already is?

Thoughts?

Across the top are guys that do just that. And there is an osh park thread too where guys designed them and put them up for sharing.
Pedal building is like the opposite of sex.  All the fun stuff happens before you get in the box.

Agreed! I feel like a total creaper when i'm looking at the profile of the person. I would look up Layton (TreeSlayer) he's the man and has an awesome assortment. But yes, a list of people/sites would be cool.

The buy/sell/trade area of the forum is a good start for locating PCBs. We could have a specific thread for just notifications (my name is, my webpage is, I have such and such...)

Obviously, I don't mind people advertising their wares, so long as there is not too much overlap in our respective offerings. If someone had a "BudMunny" Big Muff project...we'll that would be problematic, haha.

yeah, there are a couple of guys at top but there are definitely more that are not. It would just be nice for guys (like me) that are new and looking for more projects.

I've been here since December and just today found two more members sites that sell boards that I had no idea did.

jimilee

Oh, you mean guys with websites. Yeah I have to search out chi_boy every time I want something from his site

If your web browser has memory activated you can just type "gprause" in the address field, it works for me :)

The "Bud munny" comment made me chuckle...my band mates and I used to do that in high school when we were trying to think of a band name examples: Stiff Dinner Roll (Limp Bizkit), Dead Feelings (Senses Fail), Hearfrequencys (deftones).

Is the BudMunny the circuit where you take a Big Muff and plug the guitar in the output and the input to the amp and instantly sound like David Gilmour?

I think you wanted to say "Gavid Dilmour". :)

The "AsphaltRage" charge pump board is going to be a big hit I hear.

  DIY Guitar Pedal PCB projects!

The OSH Park thread is the closest to what you're asking for, and that thread was a really good idea.

I won't speculate on the reasons for excluding some others or even the reasons for including the ones that are already there, but I think Brian having invited four people (JMK, 1776, TH Custom, and Haberdasher) now to have direct links and/or sub forums is pretty darned generous considering MBP is his livelihood. They don't carry projects that overlap with him or each other (and even the occasional differently modified vintage designs they have in common aren't just component changes), and most of their projects are either updates of old (i.e., not clones of boutique pedals) or DIY-sourced designs.

I will point out that most of the PCBs sold in the b/s/t lounge are group buys. It could get confusing to manage a thread when someone stops having things for sale.

Again, I didn't want to stir up anything and I have no idea how much stuff people have that overlap.

Before coming to Madbeans, I just knew of this place, GPB, BYOC, and maybe a couple of others and was just pleasantly surprised to find there are so many additional options. I guess that's the great thing about Madbeans, not only are the boards here great, so many members are doing great things as well.

I guess the other side to it is that it's cool to become a member here, make friends, then learn about other projects. Rather than just come here for easy links to other places.

I think its a pretty cool idea. A bit like an index thread for the "member projects and tutorials" and "sale" boards. The thread could be a sticky and kept clean; just one post per member who has anything designed and for sale, a post that of course can be updated to be kept accurate. And in the post each product just gets one or two lines; name of pcb, what it is, status (verified, proto etc), and link(s) to project and sale threads, or webplace.

Cheers
Yes i still have Blüe Monster pcb-s for sale!
