How many pedals do you usually work on at one time?

Just curious how many pedals you usually are working on at any given time.

Working on as in building or working as in using?

I will usually use anywhere from 3 to 12 pedals in a live or practice situation. Usually no more than 1 or 2 if I'm just jamming on my own or practicing, unless I'm practicing with one of my boards that runs 3-12 pedals.

As for building, it's impossible to really say, but I'd put the average at above 4 or 5. I will have plans in the works on at least 8 or 9 pedals, perhaps as much as 12, but they're all in various states - ordering parts, designing PCBs, breadboarding, waiting on enclosures, drilled enclosures, populated PCBs, assembly, tweaking for improvement, playing with an evaluating...

So right now I could have as many as 12 pedals on the go in various states, but it could be more.

Probably 3 to 5 at a time in various stages.always planning and ordering parts, I seem to  always have 15 to 20 pcbs no matter how many I finish. I think they reproduce while I'm at work or something.
Pedal building is like the opposite of sex.  All the fun stuff happens before you get in the box.

I usually have 3 or 4 builds going on at once. I will shift through the building phase and testing phase. Sometimes a missing part will stop a build and I will immediately start another one until parts come in. Its really just ongoing... but it keeps me out of trouble.

+1
Funny that when they reproduce the balance of my paypal account goes down.  I always suspected a connection there...

Okay, well ...that's good to know. I was afraid to get a bunch of responses of, "I always just work on one, make sure I have everything I need before I build it, don't start anything else until I am finish, etc."

I seem to always start a few until a reach a point of missing a component and then stop and jump on something else.

Anyone keep an inventory of their components in a software program that allows you to plug in a new BOM to see what you "have" vs what you are "missing"? I keep fantasizing about this. Maybe it's overkill for just a hobby and not mass production but it still sounds like it would be a lot of help.

I considered playing with vlookups in excel but over time I've developed a gut feeling of what I might be missing parts-wise so I never actually went through with it.

Guess I am the minority but I normally build one at a time start to finish.

That said, I do have 3 builds pending for folks that will likely be in various stages once I get started on them.

I like to build start to finish. I have a couple circuits ive built but never boxed. Thats down to I think...2 right now.

I sometimes have a big project ongoing, but otherwise its one at a time typically.

I usually have a lot of things in progress at the same time.  Usually more than ten.

I try to keep it right around 3 but I usually end up having 6 or so. ADD is a terrible thing sometimes. :D

One.
I like to think that I follow the motto, "Do one thing. Do it well. Then move on to the next." (I think I got that from the stuffy bald Major on M.A.S.H.)
But really it's because I usually have too much other stuff going on to bother with keeping track of more than one pedal on my bench at once.

One unless I'm missing something expensive before I finish, don't have an appripriate enclosure for the board, or get a customer order in the middle of making something for me.

Up until the latest round it was one at a time, since they were all for me.  Then I let several folks here some of the pedals and it's kind of exploded.  Well, a mild explosion.  So I built 3 Morning Glories and am finishing 4 Klones at the same time.  After that I have 2 more klones, 2 Krakens and 2 Pork Barrels.  I'll be keeping one of the Krakens and one of the Pork Barrels.  I'm really excited about those.
