EDIT: and while we're on the subject, where to find decent (i.e. !=Tayda) momentary spsts for it that has reasonable shipping to Europe and doesn't require a $10000 purchase? This is pretty much the only reason I've been putting off trying these boards...
Carlings are expensive, anyone try these?

I've used this one in my ZeroPoint SDX:
http://www.musikding.de/1PST-Fusstaster
Since I've never used any parts before, I can't say if that is a good one, but I had no problems with it yet. Shipping is ok (if your in Germany), outside it gets really heavy and is only worth it with bigger deliveries.
This one is quite small! Nice! Any idea how good they are? How long they last? Cheers

As I said, I have nothing to compare it to. I used it as the slam switch in the zeropoint SDX, which I don't use to often. Therefore it's hard for me to say. But up to now, I haven't had any problems with any of musikding's parts...

I've ordered these (see links below) from Tayda before and they are pretty good. I used them on a footswitch for my friends Roland cube amp. I also used them to upgrade the switches in my old DL4 and FM4

Looks exactly the same as the Banzai one. Oh well, I'm just gonna order a few and get a few of 1776 buffer boards. I've been putting it off for way too long.

chromesphere

Mine probably aren't the cheapest but they are there incase you need any when order other bits and pieces.  They will fit into a 1590a, CLR on board but LED is wired offboard:

Oh yeah, and there out of stock for probably another 3 weeks...  ::)

Do the holes actually come out nice and oval?

chromesphere

More like...pill shaped (straight, with rounded edges) but they will fit both solder and pcb lug 3pdt's and are plated

They were the 5 left from the second version prototype boards.   I have another lot coming in. :)
Have you used one yet?  What did you think of them?

They haven't arrived yet, but they should be only a day or two away.

I must say I hate offboard wiring with a passion, I currently have three boxes laying around all finished except for the wiring.

I noticed earlier in this thread that gjcamann has some great little switch mounted pcb's for clippers and filters shared on Osh Park - what is the etiquette involved in getting some of these? Is it OK just to order them, or should you check with the designer first?

chromesphere

I don't know if there's an etiquette as such with shared osh park pcb's, not one that I know of.  I would expect any pcb I've shared to be used in whatever the hell way the user feels.  OSHPark should add a 'commission' for shared projects, like 20% of the sale goes to the creator.  I reckon that would really encourage designers to share their projects, in a way that doesn't suck like tayda's.  But that's a whole other conversation :)

Thanks Chromesphere! those boards look great for a 1590a. how much do you think shipping to the states is. I might grab some low profile caps while i'm at it.

I used them in a pedal that already had a momentary switch. The opto boards are still a mystery to me.

chromesphere

No prob Flanagan, I have about 40 of these boards tacked onto a medium run from oshpark, gunna take a while for them to show up.

Gledison, you can use a relay and some extra circuitry to use a spst mom switch.  I'm currently testing prototypes for spst mom and spst latched bypass pcb's.
