3PDT boards

      Just looking for opinions here.
-Do you use a 3PDT Wiring/Daughter board?
-Where do you get yours from?
-Why do you use/don't use one?
-Who has the best one?
-What is the average velocity of an un-maiden swallow?

Sometimes i do, sometimes I don't. It mostly depends on the board that's getting boxed, if it has 9v/gnd/in/out pads located more or less together then I'll use the 3pdt board. If the offboard wire pads are all over the place then I mostly don't.

I've tried various 3pdt boards and right now I'm using 1776 ones. When I run out of those I'll try Ben's. I also have a few orphans lying around that I don't remember where they came from.
Come to think of it, I don't know why I don't just make my own batch.

EDIT: and while we're on the subject, where to find decent (i.e. !=Tayda) momentary spsts for it that has reasonable shipping to Europe and doesn't require a $10000 purchase? This is pretty much the only reason I've been putting off trying these boards...

I use the 1776 boards.

Assuming that you mean an unladen swallow, it's about 11 meters per second, for the European variety.

Another vote for the 1776 PCBs.

They are not bad for the cheaper alternative. What I like about the 1776 board is that you have seperate "sections" for everything - the input jack, the output jack, etc. That makes it a bit easier when planing out the lengths to use. Here everything is tied to one spot and its a bit annoying since the LEDs and the 9 volt DC Jack has to be wired offboard

But you can't go wrong with 1776 stuff.

His relay bypass boards are also really nice.

If you are going for 1590A size, I think the easiest bet is to still wire them the long way (no switch PCB).

Too big for that. In the osh park thread, there is a mini 3pdt board. I use those too, work great for 1590a. I use the 1776 boards for multi builds.

Don't use one, partly because I'm too cheap to bother, partly because I never remember. They just run connections from pads on the board to the switch, most of 'em, and the only thing they do that I'd consider for making my life easier is the LED/CLR boardmounting.

I would have thought of this as the short way 'round, half as many solder joints to be made and as such their use for standard switching setups with big blue 3pdt switches totally puzzles me.

After seeing pics of such neat wiring with those 1776 board, I tried one and my pedals still look like rats nests  Ah well - it did help a little.

I'm making my own lately with LED,  anti-pop input and output resistors and my flavor of power filtering so I can use anyone's PCB or some VERO layout and still have the basics the way I like them.

Since I've never used any parts before, I can't say if that is a good one, but I had no problems with it yet. Shipping is ok (if your in Germany), outside it gets really heavy and is only worth it with bigger deliveries.
