Good thing I asked! 

wiggling pins into the board has been a nightmare for me already on a few 4-pot 1590B builds, I can't even imagine wiggling four rotaries in and then the switch and then the pots too. I guess I better overdrill generously! 

Right now I'm considering not putting in the boardmounted pots at all but making them out of regular solderlug ones and some diode clipoffs, that'd make them a whole lot more "wiggleable" or "insertable" if I solder them to the board first?

This particular build is the 1.0, the 1.4 has a different arrangement of controls -- the drills are the same, but the control placement is not.

The first page of the build doc should have a roughly 1:1 pots, LEDs, and switches layout -- print it out and compare it to your PCB to see if it is scaled correctly.
