Really impressive build, and a great effect!

Yeah, this technique you've got going with the etching and paint is producing some startling results. I've really got to try a Superfuzz sometime this year just to see what subtle differences there are with the Standard Fuzz.

Okay, so this is how much I geek out on knob choice and how it goes with other aesthetic considerations, like the color of LED bezel and that kind of thing. I'm thinking these knobs from SB would look even cooler because the silver center would match the shiny, etched letters (I think the white you chose looks great, so it's the white I've got in mind here):

I really like my Standard with my EQD Disaster Transport, so I totally hear you on the reverb/shoegaze thing.

Thanks everyone for your kind words. Its been a really productive week for me and I hope it continues through the weekend. The wife has a cold so that mean we will not be going out at all and she will be abusing NyQuil for sure. So that means more bench time for me.

How did you do the graphic? Simply ferrocloride? And the red color? Paint or powder coat?

If you look at my BB Ahoy build I explain my process pretty quickly.. I am working on a tutorial for my blog this weekend.

where did you get this pcb?  what's nucleon?
In the Buy/Sell/Trade section there is a member selling them along with some other great layouts.

Thanks for the knob suggestion, I will definitely pick some up.

Cody, Super job on that,  wouldn't change a thing! Looks as if there're clouds being reflected in the etched lettering (i assume it was shot inside), very cool!

Wow! The first build report where someone other than myself has used my PCB design. Actually an emotional moment. And what a stunning looking pedal! And I also thought: cool etch and then scrolled down. Wow, awesome.

Very glad you like the PCB. It's quite a lot of parts but it has a nice flow to it when building IMO. Thanks so much for the kind words. Maybe i should change my user name  ::)

That's an amazing looking etch, Cody! Truly a work of art  :P
I'm borrowing a Shin-ei Companion Fuzz for a few days which has six 2SC828 inside (according to the battery plate). I've fallen in love with its gated fuzz sound - sure will be hard to return the pedal. Perhaps this isn't the place to ask, but does the Nucleon PCB nail that sound? Any other recommendations?
