Yep all the details are there for building on a Mudbunny or any muff board based on that schematic.

If by doom were talking doom metal (my dying bride, katatonia, opeth, etc) closest thing I can think of in the DIY realm is a madbean upper decker which is probably more just a 'metal' pedal then specifically doom.  I probably wouldn't use a metal sounding pedal or fuzz for Doom personally.  Anyway, check this one out:

That does sound pretty cool and ill want to build it someday but not for Doom sorts of stuff.

And as a side note i ordered one of your 7 min fuzz kits

chromesphere

Yeah the upper decker is a complicated build.

Cool!  Hope you like it and welcome to the hobby!

Giggidy... I never get tired of hearing your demo of that pedal Paul!

I dunno,  I don't think Paul is too far off, I was nailing some Orchid tones with simply a blackstar ht-5 and a Naga Viper clone up front.  That's nothing but a high gain amp that I bet the Upper Decker could easily dial into.

That is.... Assuming your looking for more 70's type doom (Orchid, Black Pyramid)

Space Frog though sounds more like some Big Muff variant to me (for comparison)

Im not particularly going for any one tone. i lean towards Acid King and Electric Wizards sorts of tones more than anything

pietro_moog

well, but, elctric wizard  isn't like big amps and boss fz2-3 or something, which is like a super fuzz with an eq of some sort?  do you like a fuzz which is a bit octave-y?
i love my pointdexter (zvex octane 3), is really great and the tone control is very cool. middy to scoped.
the point here is, do you have a big amp? can you build an amp? i know a few good projects for doom..

I have a pretty big and loud setup, i run a Bugera 1960 150w amp into 4 cabs (ported 2x12, 2x15, 4x10 bass cab, and a detuned 4x10). I had an fz2 for awhile but i sold it because it doesnt really work for my setup, love what EW did with it, but i like my Donner Party for high gain stuff more.
