Does anyone here know about XLR combo, i mean use it for diy purpose? I have a plan to make a DI Box and want to try this stuff. Any Clue?

If this is what your talking about, Its so weird you ask because I was just ordering some from Mouser for my vocal effects pedal. I wanted the options of using XLR or 1/4" mono.

Yep...that thing. The closest country i could buy that in small amount is singapore, and i have to buy for about 30-40 pcs. maybe some of you want to sell that babe to me here in indonesia? ...

They are very useful if you use a lot of balanced/line level gear.

Means you don't have to have a load of XLR cables knocking about to interconnect everything.

If you are just using guitar related stuff I wouldn't bother.

Also, note that passive DI boxes are designed to be amplified by a mic-preamp (hence the XLR connector), therefore a jack connector may not be as useful in that scenario.

Active DI's are a different matter mind (they require no further amplification and are usually already at line level).
