Battery Snap OK with 9V Harbinger One?

I'm building the Harbinger One for 9V operation with a One Spot wall wart. Since it's 9V, can I use a standard battery snap connection and stereo input jack wired to the 9V power jack? I may never use the battery snap, but nice to have as an option. Would this damage anything in a dying battery scenario?

A battery probably wouldn't last a gig in there, current draw is high. Plus, say you have a 10V battery, doubled to 20V, minus the diode drops of 0.6V and the 7815 needs +1.7v above its output to function which gives you about 17.7V best case... realistically you'll probably have 17V which isn't much play and that's gonna drain quick.

Slightly confusingly written sorry about that, short answer yes but don't bother (and I love having the battery option too).

Thanks Scruffie, sounds like it's not worth it.
