Rapid electronics

Hey guys,

I know some of you in the UK use Rapid often. I'm looking at getting some stuff there that I can't get a good deal on elsewhere. Anyone out there in Canada/US/Worldwide ever get stuff from Rapid? How was the experience?

What do you need? I'm going to order some SMD stuff from them shortly and some other bits. If you want, I'll stick it onto my order and can post it out to you if the postage isn't too much.

I've tried to order some stuff there before but I always ran into account problems.  That and the VAT is very high.

Yup 20% VAT for us

You shouldn't have to pay VAT if you live outside of the EU.

Rapid is great as a general components supplier. I use it for a lot of things (along with Farnell, CPC etc.).

Yep, 20% VAT is a bitch, but you shouldn't have to pay it out of the UK.
