Seriously, when I see this I just don't know what to say

New SL drive from Xotic, in a 1590A (assuming tall), with a freaking 9V battery in it.  I haven't bought a (new) production pedal in a long time, but I'm thinking I might have to buy this one, just to marvel at it.

With low profile jacks and SMD parts, it's not that extraordinary* (am I jaded already?), but it nevertheless looks very well thought, with the board(s) orientation and everything. I'm quite curious about the DPDT board in particular.

I hope this is not the kind of pedal which needs to have its volume adjusted often, though. I have this kind of shaft-only pots on two Mooer pedals, they're nice for "set and forget" settings but can be annoying when you need to adjust them frequently (and it's really close to the other big knobs on this one).

*for a production unit, that is. If someone here did this kind of thing, I would be thoroughly impressed.

Yeah, I was just impressed at how well they used the space inside the shell more than anything.

I have just had a look at their website, their SP compressor is quite nice too!

Also, I hope I didn't sound like a spoilsport, I actually found the pictures of these pedals really inspiring.

Nope. It's not a 1590a. It's a proprietary enclosure that's taller than a 1590a by enough to fit a battery.

I have actually seen a fuzz or something in a 1590a with a battery. It's on the big mini thread on diysb.

Are you saying it can't be done? Please tell me that it can't be done.  ;D
I'm sorry sir, we only have the regular ohms

Sorry, Mike, you've won one too many bets with me for me to say that.

It can't be done. Never in a million years can it be done.

Now off to grab some popcorn while I eagerly await the results!

Ahw man, and I had a hard time finding a place for a battery in a recent 1590BB build....   :D

This was one of my first pedals, a silicon fuzz face with a battery in a 1590a :D When you look at the picture you'll see that the build quality is quite high  :D

you could adjust the bias with a screwdriver on the side of the pedal

It's just unbelievable that my friend played outdoor gigs with it, he played it on town squares all around my country.
Now, it looks like absolute madness to me that such a pedal could do that :D

Now that's something I can marvel at 8) The cable management, the lug bending on the 3PDT... seriously, despite the cramped looks, this the kind if things I like to see, all the more since it's not quite common.

I remember that someone showed a pedal with an A23 battery on the big small box thread at diysb, really interesting as well.

Dude... Battery in a 1590B with two knobs?

Next level stuff right there. Now I can't wait to see the DIY wizards around here top it.

And.......... Go.
