Doombutter Fuzz Lift Question

I pre-box rocked my doombutter today and everything seems to work (although I think I'm going to reverse the wiring on the Delay pot because it makes more sense to me that way).  My question is with the fuzz lift.  It seems when I switch the fuzz off, I also lose everything but the delay.  The Delay and Blend knobs still do their thing but Depth and Tracking fail to do anything with the fuzz lifted.  Is that supposed to be that way or is something amiss??

Interesting.  I thought maybe my issue had something to do with the input volume or picking intensity or something so I hooked it back up and tried again.  Now everything works, fuzz or no fuzz.  Yay.  Maybe I shorted the pots somewhere when the were laying on the floor the first time?

Now to stuff it in a box!
