Ross Compressor

Built this from a great board I got from pickdropper. It's a Ross 4 knob compressor.
Decided to go simple and try stamps. These are quick and easy but there is definitely a learning curve on how to line them up. I didn't do so well, but I like it and it really stands out next to all the etched faceplates I've been doing.

I keep forgetting I have on of these boards too!  really love your photography skills too, it looks so retro. I really like it. How does the compressor sound? I need to get on it.

I got one of these boards to. I want to like compressors but can't seam to groove with them. I have not tried the Ross though.

Yeah, stamps basically never look bad. And you don't want it to look like you used a computer. It looks like you used a typewriter!

Thanks guys for your kind words. What's great about the stamps is the ease. No etching or chemicals. The process takes a couple of minutes and you're good to go.

As far as the compressor goes, I've only spent a few minutes with it to make sure it works. There are definitely some nice sounds in there, I just need to find those sweet spots for my setup. Probably doesn't help that I'm clueless as to what the knobs I'm turning do. I have no idea what "attack" and "clipping" mean.  Plus, I don't have much experience with compressors so I have nothing to compare this too.

When I get some time next week I want to put it in front of some other pedals and see how it interacts. I'll give an update when I do. From what I've read about the Ross compressor, I'm expecting it to be really good.

Great job! I love the stamps as well and the guts look amazing! I'm getting ready to start my first compressor build and I basically as clueless as you are so I would love to hear your impressions once you figure out what all them knobs do!

My grandparents had this old typewriter with the ribbon on a spool, you never knew exactly where the keys would strike. I think I nailed that look!
