Hey again dear forumites!

Another "finally boxed and done one" , I proudly play the THRONE TONE!

This is raulduke SJ Effects' Prince Albert / RAH. Very much worth building. If a box can be soulful, this one certainly is. Very human/sensitive tone out of this one. It kinda plays what i play, just with some added expression.

Excellent build, mate! I love this circuit... I use it as my solo boost at every gig... just throws the guitar out front beautifully!

Ah sorry. No, it is a waterslide. My brain must have translated pickdroppers post as "nice layout work" or similar:)

As i no look at the pics, they actually look a bit etched, as the letters are a bit reliefed (correct word?). And i have seen two-colored etches (transparent paint over black) around here, but i dont manage that technique myself.

Wonderful wonderful build man! You achieved so much with so little graphics-wise, I'm diggin' it.

On a side note - is there any real advantage of having a dc jack so low in the enclosure, just beside the footswitch?
I always tend to put mine as far as possible form the input/output jacks and pots...cause I think pedals tend to have less noise that way, certainly less hum in some of the fuzzes I've built.
If you put a dc jack on top, yeah, you will most likely have a long ground wire going to the footswitch [for the LED] that can act as an antenna and soak some noise into the ground if not placed carefully, but I always choose this "method"...
What are everyones thoughts on this?
I am sorry to derail the thread man, if you mind, I'll open another, it's just that I happened to think about this while I was looking at your gorgeous build.

About groundwiring; This time i used (for the first time actually) a "3pdt board", which is comfortable when it comes to soldering and offboard wiring. Thats why the DC jack is placed where it is. Mostly (an example here: http://www.madbeanpedals.com/forum/index.php?topic=9859.0) i place the DC jack on top. The advantage of that technique is - to me - when you use the box, "shorter way to the wallwart". Downside is - obviously - more messy cables inside the box. Also, as you can see in that example, i connect all grounds to only one point (in this case: the input jack). That should be more important than an inch or two more on the involved ground wire lengths to avoid ground loops. There is one exception from the "one ground-point-rule" above though; the output jack is grounded in the enclosure AND by wire to the input jack. I do that for safety reasons; if the jack nut will accidently loosen it will cause bad ground and noise/crackle if its not "backupped" with a solder wire.

...thats how i mostly think.

...and no, i havent got any problems with the "subject drifting" towards a grounding discussion. I rather welcome it as ive been pondering about it as well. If someone will search for the subject in - say - 6 month, it maybe will be harder to find it in here though. Maybe its hard to find it in here today too:)
