Is the low rider tssentially a POG?  How is the tracking on it and is it best for single notes or will it track chords well?

No, it's essentially a Pearl Octaver. :D

It's far more synthy than a POG, and it does not have a true +8va. The "upper" octave in the Lowrider is more like a fuzzy original octave with the incidental upper harmonics you get from something like that. A true, clean +8va is impossible to produce in an analog circuit.

The one octave down is very good. It's not the absolute best analog -8va (Merlin Blencowe's U-Boat probably deserves that honor), but the tracking is quite good. The second octave down is also decent.

It has a few issues with polyphony, though I find it handles 5ths easily. Sounds glorious with a fuzz in front. Does decent rock organ sounds. Overall, it's best used to blend in some octaves to the dry signal and make single lines sound HUGE, whereas some people use the POG for pure octave work. But the POG won't do glitchy synth stuff, either. They have different uses.
