This was my built contest entry for October 2013, using the GCFX RottenKomp, Madbean Kraken and Pickdropper Thermionic Overdrive.

For real, I've never been into heavy stuff so I can't play that genre at all. But every time I hear it I'm like "dang I wish I could do that!"  Great tone there. I needs to learn the heavy tricks.

In life i could whore out my self for 3 effects, Delay, Phaser and Envellope Filters.

The Kraken is sitting in the King's throne for me, i own a QTron+, Mu-TronIII and because of is ease of use and simply because you don't need to re-adjust it everytime you change of guitar it get's my main vote.

The sweep, attack and decay are less «deep» compared to the Nautilus (MuTronIII) but everything else about it make it a winner.

spectacular high-gain sound!!

There's no replacement for displacement, the MarkIV is an impressive amp, it might get kicked out soon... will see when i'm done with the Amp i have in the work....

I ain't no master at all in that genre, i just enjoy it and it's what i've been playing with for the past 15years... from a learning perspective i think Lamb of God is a really good starting point, good riffs, lots of down and alternate picking, artificial harmonics... within one song it covers most of the aspects of heavy riffing and they are quite easy to get going at first.
