What up guys,

A long day at work sparked some creative juices this evening :)
Here are the results of some stress relief...

Attacked this with a belt sander:

Used a lot of water:

Inspired by Jackson Pollock:

Nice and shiny:

Matt.

Really dig the last and the "used lots of water." You do such cool enclosures. :)

Thanks Jon,
At least you know there's one other fellow "pedal painter" :)

Those are great. I reliced a pedal myself. It's the space ghost phaser if you do a search. That's a favorite finish of mine. Hell fender made a whole line of guitars like that too!
Pedal building is like the opposite of sex.  All the fun stuff happens before you get in the box.

Some really cool stuff there, Matt.  I think you are on to something with that style.

Thanks for the kind words guys :)

The belt sander relic look worked quite nicely.
I had painted it about 3 times before but nothing seemed to work so been on the bench for months.
Where desperation meets frustration, a belt sander occurs :)

Anyone keen to try this approach, would recommend painting a section another base colour like black or white.
What I mean is that I discovered accidentally that because I had white painted over the orange powder coat on the front, it adds an extra dimension when you sand it down.
Just a thought ;)
