Okay, humans can't see ultraviolet, but there are many people selling "UV Purple" or "Ultra Violet" LEDs.

I also know that there are some functions of UV light in electronics, eyes can't see it, but sensors can pick it up.

Are the LEDs below the electronics specific invisible UV light, or a very poor naming convention of purple colored LEDs?

It's just marketing terminology.  ::) These LEDs are kind of a cool, bluish-purple. I used one on a Wolfshirt build and was pleasantly surprised. My niece thought it looked almost like a black light. There are more straight-up purple LEDs though. I'll be more careful next time I order I guess.

I tried one and I dunno if it's just me, but it kinda hurt my eyes, not in brightness, in a strobe lighting makes me feel a bit sick kinda way. Coulda been a hangover though lol.

I just used a Radio Shack "Ultraviolet" LED in a build because it was the closest thing to the purple my friend requested. To me, it looks like a kinda purple-ish blue
