I'm working on a vero 820 right now. Is that REALLY at 470uf cap? Sheesh!  :o

Cool. I'd like to hear what you think of it. That's just a power cap. I'm sure a smaller one won't matter.

What transistor are you using in place of the 2SK246?

Finished the circuit today. Baby is sleeping so I only got a chance to play through headphones. Sounds very very very close to the Klon. I would not be able to pick which is which if I was blind folded. They vero layout is a little uncomfortable but it works. No enclosure yet, just playing through my testing rig.  I also built a Maxon 808 on vero and I really like it....better than the 820. I ended up using a 2N5457 for the 820.

2N5457 here, too. It does sound very klon-like, but less compressed to my ears. Really it sounds even more like Bean's Kingslayer with the diodes in the feedback loop.
