Building two pedals into one 1590b

I'm subscribed to the Pedaltrain Nano thread on TGP and I get so excited everytime someone posts a picture of their board up.

I'm all for saving space on my pedalboard and I love versatility. I want to build the Green Bean and the Runt into one standard 1590b enclosure. Looking at the project file, looks like both PCBs could fit in there with no problem.

My question is would there be any problems with wiring the output of the Green Bean PCB directly to the input of the Runt PCB? And also, can I connect the power supply and grounds together on both PCBs to one DC jack, or would that cause noise problems?

That should be perfectly fine. But i guess you will have separate footswitches for the circuits? Or do you really want to connect PCB to PCB?

Yes i still have Blüe Monster pcb-s for sale!

Haha! That would be a little strange for me! You are right, all controls will be separate. I will try my best to cram them all together in there.

Just because you can physically fit both boards into a 1590B doesn't mean that there's also enough room for the jacks and foot switches. I think you're best off doing this in a 125B with 12mm or 9mm pots. You could stack the boards vertically (maybe) or put the Runt sideways and fit the jacks over top of the pots. However, I think you're going to have to sacrifice some controls on the greenbean. The toggles will be difficult to fit with everything else in there.

Two dirt circuits sharing power will not cause issues. They'll share mA, but run on the same voltage. This isn't a problem if they have similar power requirements, which these do.

There are some threads around with the proper wiring for doing two foot switches for two effects if you want them to be selectable instead of always stacked.

There's no need to try and get them both into a 1590B with switches if you use a bypass looper either. I highely recommend trying the 125BB with top mounted jacks. It's a big savings when you put the jacks on the top end.

The Green Bean alone is a fairly tight fit in a 1590b.  I'm not sure how practical it would be to stuff another circuit in there.
