I post this here because I know you guys will see it.

This is what I want:
A loop sort of box.
The bass/guitar raw signal goes into the input.
The box identifies the amplitude/volume of that raw unprocessed signal.
The loop out goes into my effects chain.
The loop in is where my effects chain returns to the box.
The box then matches the loop in amplitude/volume with what it detected from the raw signal input.
The box then has an output to go to my amp.

This sounds sort of llike a compressor, but it isn't.
Does this make sense?

Does this exist?
No?
Can you build it?

Easy. What you're looking for is an active mixer. Use the input level knob to match unity gain.
"If you put all the knobs on your amplifier on 10 you can get a much higher reaction-to-effort ratio with an electric guitar than you can with an acoustic."
