You think that's bad, try pricing out late 50's Gibson Creme Colored Pickup rings.  I don't know where they are in today's economy, but they used to be in the 5 figures for a pair of them.

I guess if one has a vintage Les Paul that would be worth 150k if it had all the right parts, there is some incentive to make it right.
