I just saw that small bear sells 12mm alpha pots for .55 cents cheaper than the 9mm ones.  Anyone that etches their own stuff think these will work for the new mini board projects?  bean?  Could add up for someone that does a lot of 1590a builds.

I had the same thought yesterday. Though I am currently working on cramming an OCD on vero into a 1590a with 16mm pots. It will be a happy day when it's done, though so far the hardest part has been the finish. Bughhh!

The 12mm pots are the same height as 16mm pots. I would follow Bean's recommendation and use 9mm pots with a piece of vero to harness/attach the wires.

Real-estate is a premium in the baby builds  :)

They will work fine for builds requiring one or two pots. You might be able to squeeze three in okay...depends on how close they can be, what knobs you are using, etc.

I got two 12mm pots and a switch in a 1590a. Definitely couldn't have fit a third pot, though, without mangling or removing the legs (you could remove the legs and solder into the little holes on the pot's board).

Hey since we're on the topic of mini pedals (don't mean to hijack the thread) what do you think about sticking PCB standoffs (white plastic things that attach a PCB to a surface) on the other side of a pot.
They look like this:

I'm thinking about doing this to save space because i can't put the stand off next to the pots because the pots would be higher than the base of the stand off and the back of the PCB would touch the backs of the pots. Do pots heat off and melt sticky stuff off? Or if it totally safe to do this?
