Couple of quick questions.

D1 - Can I sub a 1N4001 or 1N5818 or ?? in place of the 1N5817. 
C2 - Cant find a 200pf cap, would it be better to parallel (2) 100pf  or would a 220pf or 180pf be ok?
Q2 - BC109 - Hfe average around 200 Ok?  or higher better?

The D1 sub will be good.

For the caps, check the tolerances. They are probably 20% which means you could do either. I would do the two 100pf's in parallel just because that will probably get you closer to 200pf.

For Q2 I am not sure. I haven't swapped mine out and tried any others. But it is a good starting point to see how it sounds.
