I want to hear a Dirtbag Deluxe

Hi,
I'm getting ready to build a dirtbag deluxe, as a matter of fact I've already purchased the board but not the components. I am trying to decide between an MN3005 and a v3205. I'm concerned about getting fake MN3005's. I have searched on youtube and have not been able to find a good comparison of the dirtbag to a real DMM. I would also like to hear a comparison between the MN3005 and the v3205 Dirtbag. Can anyone point me to some demos?

Hey djaaz,
Thanks for the post. That is really helpfull. From your comment about this putting to rest the MN3005 mojo does this mean you are satisfied with the v3205 rather than the MN3005? This is the decision I'm struggiling with.

Only facts i can enumerate are:

The memory toy does not have MN3005 in it but BL3208. Modern chip like the V3205.

For the dirtbag deluxe version with V3205, i can't say as i did not build one. It's still on my todo list and i will record a demo as soon as it is done.

I would post a request in the audio/video demo forum as there is a bunch of us who did build this version.

MN3005 are incredibly difficult to source. This beeing said, it also means that if you receive some chips that are not obviously fakes then you won't be able to tell if it's your build or your chips that are not working.
You will receive fakes, you will spend time to try to be reimbursed, it will not always be possible. In the end, two working chips are going to be expensive if you can find them.

You could be lucky as well.
