Zombii - Scratchy Pots or Just the nature of the beast

I just built a Zombii, used the 9mm pcb mounted pots from SmallBear.
As I turn through the ranges, there is scratchiness, like the pots are dirty.

So a couple of questions:
1) is this normally how they are and all is fine?
2) How do you get the cleaner spray into these things?

I don't see anyway to get any spray into them, the shaft going into the housing is smaller than the knob part so it looks like it would act as an umbrella and prevent most of it from getting down there.

Thanks

I've never built the Zombii or used those pots, but the schematic makes it look like almost all of the pots could have DC on them and/or re-bias transistors on-the-fly a la a certain crackle-prone boost pedal.  I think it's just the nature of the beast.

pretty sure thats kinda normal, regardless of pot type.
