Hi all,
So recentrly i've been exploring the world of amp & pedal capture. Bought a Tonex, a few neuraldsp plugins, explored AIDAx and NAM and came to the conclusion that tube amps are things from the past.
Who knew?
So i bought a new one, stuck in my 8 square meter office between a twin reverb, a boss katana, a h&k triamp and a Victory Krake, i present to you the Marshal DSL1. A 1W tube amp powered by a 12AY7 used in a push/pull configuration.

It's awesome, loud, does not produce any sort of relevant bass. Awesome.

And here in context, a silly thing i toyed with to test ezdrummer. left is the marshall with a heavily gained tubescreamer in front and right is the amp with nothing at all.
recorded with the cheap royer clone from harley benton.

Well how cool is that!

Pedal building is like the opposite of sex.  All the fun stuff happens before you get in the box.

Pretty cool actually. Three tubes: 2 12ax7 and one 12au7 to replace two "traditional" powertubes, that's really fun, full of tube dynamic.
To be honest, in use it's not very different than the 5w amps that flourished here and there: too loud to get the goods in a practice room.
However, probably bc of the push/pull conf; it's a bit less acid while having even less bass.
Very interesting recording amp that you're not afraid to abuse as a power tube change will cost you a 20 at most.
