Just looking around, the LM13700 IC has gotten just amazingly expensive. Tayda has it for 3.99 But digikey has surface mount for a Buck and change....Might be time to go that route.

Good plan. David at effectslayouts did this on the pulsar tremolo of mine he traced. His board has a thru hole for the CA3080 and smd pads on the backside for the 13700. When I found out that TH lm13700 were EOL I stocked up on more than I thought I would ever need from jamesco at 1.25 a piece. What's next, standard dual opamps?

It looks like I got out of the hobby just in time. Now the only thing I still occasionally build are kits, so no more sourcing hassles.
