I'm looking at picking up one or two of the three designs available, which sounds most like the original pedal?
I know there is a opamp verison of the big muff, but not sure if that can be bypassed to have the original sound or not.

If the opamp can be bypassed with the MBP versions then the choice is simple, PigButt2019 over RabbitHole2020, MudBunny2020 seems to have more features and would likely be worth also building, but if all three are different in some way then building all of them would be worth it too.

Who am I kidding? I'll probably end up building all of them and the rest of the shop at some point.  :D

Everything you need is on this website

There is a lot to it, you can't simply say what sounds like the original, because unlike the tubescreamer or rat or many others the design and sound of the big muff has always been in a state of flux.

It may be more helpful to think of a band you know uses one that you'd like to get the sound of. Dinosaur Jr, Smashing Pumpkins, Pink Floyd... something like that is a good starting point.

I had no idea Pink Floyd uses/d one, I was thinking Smashing Pumpkins and I recently watched a video where Billy was talking about when He first picked one up.
He had the orginal version, but was testing the OpAmp and I was thinking that I would like one from that era or similar.

Yeah, there is an article on there about the Siamese Dream muff. I think the common thought is that its a IC muff, but I think there is some uncertainty about if that is what was actually used. I doubt anybody knew the difference between different versions back then.

At any rate, if that is the sound you are after then the IC muff is definitely the one you want.

There is a pic of the one Corgan used on this page:

That's exactly the pedal that comes to mind when I hear Big Muff, so the OpAMp version would be closest... I intend to finance Brian a bit more in the future and buy all pedals available, even if just to build them, but I'd like to start with the one that I like first.
