Pot covers

I've noticed in a few different build docs by assorted pcb builders a note to remove covers on potentiometers if included.  Not sure why you would want to remove the covers?

I always pried/cut them off, they were just taking up space and i thought they were ugly.

One of my PCBs (the 18 knob phaser), needs the covers cut off so that the pots all fit... it was a tight skweeze to get them into the enclosure as it was. I've also got some FC UK eurorack synth modules that need pot covers cut off as well, for similar reasons.
