Hello again,

I am looking to build a road rage just to get negative-ground power to the Mangler (PNP fuzz face) and the build doc calls for TC1044SCPA in IC1.

Smallbear only has a ICMAX 1044A chip. Is this the same thing, will it work fine for -9v power?
here is the link:

I would like to just "one-stop shop" if I can so I am hoping the SB IC will work for this application

Thanks for all the help!

Yeah, you can use the max1044 also.  Ive usd both.  The biggest difference is that the max1044 can handle up to 9v and the tc1044 handles 12v (i think). Just make sure you use a well regulated power supply when powering so you dont overload the chip.  Ive done that with the max1044 by using older boss adapters (from the 80's).  Also, dont plug the chip in backwards unless you like the smell of burning plastic and wasted money.  (ask me how i know)
