Aristocrat Issue

The first half of my aristocrat build sounds gated. If you hit the strings softly nothing happens, if you hit em real hard it gives a fuzz noise then cuts out. I rechecked all my components and they are correct. When I place my finger on the circuit side around the Gain pot I get more signal, but it almost seems like too much. Has this happened to anyone else?

Sounds like maybe you are voltage starving.

What are your IC voltages?

After a lengthy and frustrated debug process I still have no idea what the problem was. I jumpered IC's 1+2 and it sounds fine. Thinkin it was a crappy chinese C3, but who knows.

PS-second channel worked fine. I went and bought a lifetime supply of new soldering tips and .8mm drill bits. This won't happen again!
