I hope we get access to these chips at some point and if taken to extremes I can see them being serious contenders to real tubes.

So have you played with the headphone feature at all yet? As an apartment dweller its what intrigues me the most, and if its good (or even decent) I may start saving up for one of these in a few pay days.

For headphone playing, I really like the Yamaha THR series amps. They also sound good not with headphones, but the stereo effects are a bit more pronounced through headphones, and overall they sound very good.

I know a few people that swear by the Yamaha. I haven't checked the headphone output but will take a listen tomorrow.
