About that negative nine volt connector thing...

Hello.

Should I be concerned that standard pedalboard wiring has positive voltage on the outside of the connectors?  The panel-mount jacks that I am aware of have the outside terminal "grounded" to the chassis.  So your whole system is positive ground, which I guess is okay if there isn't a nine volt negative ground anywhere in the system.

Nope. Tip (inside)is negative on a standard pedalboard. You're good.

I don't think that that is true.  I'm looking at a little buffer card.  It has one terminal labelled "9 Volts" and another labelled "Ground".  You're saying that I should connect them together to the same place.  I don't see how that would work.

Center is negative. Sleeve is positive. It's why we use fully insulated (aka plastic) DC jacks.
