Hammond 1590B2 for VFE pedals. . .

Can you use just a standard 1590B inclosure for these builds or the newer 1590B2's that are a pinch taller?

Just a standard 1590b. These earlier VFE pedals have side mounted jacks, the new enclosures are for VFEs new effect lineup with top mounted jacks.
So yeah, a plain old 1590b will be fine, not as glamorous but cheap, just like us DIYers like it
