BB Preamp unity gain

I've just finished a bb preamp clone on a Fuzzdog board and I'm hitting unity gain with the volume around 9 o'clock.  Has anyone else made a bb preamp and can tell me if that's normal.  I've checked his schematic against one on freestompboxes and they use the same parts values throughout.  I had an original bb preamp a few years ago and unity was around 12 on the volume pot.

Probably just a different taper for the volume pot.

Your probably right I just thought it was very early to hit unity gain with the volume pot at 9 o'clock.
