Ernie Ball Volume Topper

So I wanna etch a topper for an Ernie ball volume pedal - what would you guys use for a faceplate? And, more importantly, where would you get it?  I'd prefer to use aluminum, not fr4.

I guessing he means the rubber pad / grip tape on the top of the volume pedal.

I have seen someone take an old aluminum street sign and cut it down and put it on the top of his wah.. I bet the same rules apply on a VP.
