I'm not talented enough to use that but still that is friggin' cool!

I was waiting for the PGS demo of this thing -- sounds awesome! Wish I had any use for one at all.

Is it feasible to build one of them, or is that a lot of digital circuitry?
I thought this would save me money.

I've always wanted a vocoder, though I'm not someone that you'd want to hear sing. I could probably still manage to sound of pitch with a vocoder;)

I'm sure it's all digital trickery. Talk boxes are pretty easy to build diy, but you'd need the tubing and a Mic for it.

As far as vocoders, I've seen some diy projects but for use with synths not guitar.

Scroll down to the Living Vocoder Rerun section. Yes, those are DIP8 size opamps. Yes, that board is enormous.

Analogue vocoders are nontrivial.

Amen to that Alan. I would really like to build one but man....they are intense. Digital ones are cool (and close!) but analog ones are the sh!t. The Paia one seems maybe cheaper?

Paia stuff has always been good value for money, and a lot simpler than you'd think you could get away with :)

I've been tempted a couple of times to get that.
