Hey everyone,

I just ordered my poindexter pcb and wanted to know if anyone could shed some light on the type of capacitors to use. By the board layout, I can tell that the charged capacitors are supposed to be electrolytic, but for the others, should I use ceramic, or poly film, or something else?

This is my first non-kit build, and I am just working through the process of ordering the parts myself.

Thanks much, any and all help is greatly appreciated!

you could use films for anything in the nanofarad range and ceramic's for the picofarad values. there is more choices of coarse but these are generally fine for what we do.

You should go for 25 or 50v rated caps on most builds. Choosing a higher value will lead to bigger caps so fitting them can be a problem sometimes...

This is always an entertaining read and interesting if your curious about the sound of using different types  :)
